Interview Raoust Michel, Minister of the Church of Scientology
Scientologist since 1975, Michel Raoust is known for its commitment for freedom of information and freedom of conscience. In July 2003, he won a decisive victory for the rights of all French citizens. A ruling of the State Council has been established that the authorities could no longer hide behind vague and unclear reasons for denying a citizen the right to access his schedule established by the General Information. Michael also leads Raoust persistent action to end religious discrimination in France and to raise awareness of the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He responds here to some basic questions about Scientology.

Raoust Michel, What is Scientology?
The word Scientology comes from the Latin scio, "know" and the Greek logos, meaning "study". Literally, Scientology does "study of knowledge." Scientology is a religion in the truest sense of the term, it allows to link the man to his true nature is spiritual. It consists of a vast body of knowledge about life that a person can put into practice to improve and help others. It provides a path of spiritual growth that takes place step by step to expand consciousness. In a word, Scientology works. This is why tens of thousands of people France put its principles into practice in their daily lives and why many others find it gives them something as personal and family life, as in an association, a city, a country and society as a whole.

What are the practices of Scientology?
As in all religions, Scientology ministers celebrate baptisms, weddings and funerals. The Sunday services are open to all. The only significant difference, these are incremental steps that allow a person to reach higher levels of consciousness and spiritual well-being. There are two ways to move forward on this path by studying the scriptures of the founder, Ron Hubbard, and thanks to the pastoral council can receive in a church or mission of Scientology. If you need to remember one thing about Scientology, it would be this: we learn to think for oneself and one thing IS true that if you found yourself that it is true. It is a journey to discover oneself.

Why Scientology is a religion?
Scientology is the study of the spirit in relationship to itself, the universe and other forms life. So it is a religion in the deepest sense and most traditional sense, because it aims at a full rehabilitation of self: his abilities, his conscience and the certainty of immortality. Scientology shares with most of the oldest religions the belief that man must be master of its own salvation and that only by working can he fully understand his relationship with God, the Creator. The hope of Buddhism was to attain salvation in one lifetime. Some were successful and many religious practices, including Scientology, are now based on this wisdom. If one examines the various religious philosophies, we see that man turns to religion for answers as to its future survival and explanations about life. During their personal journey, Scientologists get answers to their key questions, which enable them to better understand different religions. Everyone is free to believe what he wants, but religion has so many facets that the diversity of views on the nature of God and life in fact a subject of controversy. Scientology states that man is basically good and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his relationship with his fellows and a real communion with the universe. More than a belief system, Scientology is a practical religion that plays a vital role in community life and society. She brings a spiritual awakening through religious practices that achieve states of consciousness and understanding higher, while offering practical solutions for use in everyday life.

What do Scientologists in society?
We are engaged in society and eager to improve it as we see things when our consciousness grows, it behooves us greater responsibility. What is the wisdom if it can not be put at the service of others? Scientology offers practical solutions that have proved successful at the serious problems facing our society: drugs, delinquency, school failure or decline of moral values. It can make a positive contribution to society in its fight against the scourges of drugs, illiteracy, crime, violence and intolerance. Around the churches of Scientology organized charitable activities and programs that allow Scientologists to volunteer their expertise to serve those who need help.

What is Dianetics?
Ron Hubbard discovered the single source of stress, anxiety, lack of confidence and psychosomatic illness: the reactive mind. In his book Dianetics (which means "through the soul): the power of thought on the body, he describes in detail the reactive mind and presents a method of spiritual healing that anyone can learn and apply smoothly. Dianetics techniques can reveal what is the source of unwanted sensations and emotions, accidents, injuries and psychosomatic illnesses, and provide relief. In pursuing his research on the spiritual aspects of man, then Ron Hubbard discovered Scientology. If you want to know more, I recommend you read the book Dianetics: the power of thought on the body. You will not regret it.
